LAの地下鉄
今日は産まれて始めてLAで地下鉄に乗りました！って、言っても駅は家の真下にあるんですけどね・・・。（笑）もともと、家のアパートも駅ビルだったらしく、本当に家の地下に駅があるのです。今日は昼過ぎにUniversal Studioの前にオフィッスを構える知人にインディー５００へ向けてのスポンサー探し協力でミーティングがありました。今日は金曜日だし、夕方は道が混みそうだから地下鉄の方が便利かなと思って乗る事にしました。
First time ever in my life, I got on the Metro today in LA. The Pershing Square station is actually right below my apartment and it is really convenient. Matter of fact, my apartment builduing used to be a metro station building. I decided to catch the metro since I had a meeting at Universal Studio today and I figured that would be the best way to avoid the Fri traffic.
まず、驚いたのは意外と駅が奇麗なこと。が、メチャメチャ殺風景。駅構内や電車の中には広告がなく、ましては駅員さんや改札口もありません！！いちおう、ホームに降りる手前に切符を購入する機械はありますが、ただ乗りもできちゃう勢いですね。実際に誰もチェックしにこなかったし・・・。家からUniversal Studioまでは約２５分。RedLineに乗って行かなくてはいけないのですが、Hollywood方向は途中で２つに別れる路線があって最初は間違った方に乗っちゃいました！！ん〜東京的に言うなら、丸ノ内線で荻窪に行きたかったのに、間違えて中野坂上行きに乗っちゃった〜って感じですね！！（笑）途中で気がついたので電車を乗り換えて無事にミーティングに到着。帰りも渋滞に巻き込まれずすんだので、スムーズに帰宅。ん〜LAの地下鉄も悪くないですね！！
I am used to the Japanese trains and subways where there is a lot of ad in the train and the station platform. Instead here in LA...it's all plane. I was really suprised with some what self service ticket purchase. You could almost ride for free...since there is no gate nor people checking for tickets when you ride. I guess they some time monitor the people time to time... Since it was my first time... I just hopped on to a train that was headed towards Hollywood but I didn't realize I was on the wrong one until I found out that there were two destinations on Red Line. Luckily I figured that out on time and made to the meeting. Everything went well during the meeting and came back home with out any traffic. I guess the metro is not a bad way to get around in LA especially if you live in Downtown.
